Gillian Bolsover, Grace in Action

Michael Johns holds his 14 month old daughter, Ariana, at The Town and Country Inn, a faith-based facility for families who need temporary housing. The Johns had been staying at the former hotel for about a month and were expecting to move out in the next week as soon as Michael's wife, Monique, got her first paycheck from her new job.

Dragon Con - Marriott

The Mariott Hotel in downtown Atlanta. I could really imagine shooting this photo with five doves being released in the bottom right hand corner of the frame. That would be fantastic and might make me millions.

Cemetery tour

Jim Holcomb catalogs gravestones at the Enterprise South Industrial Park. The idustrial park is part of the formerly contaminated 6,500 acre Volunteer Army Amunition Plant, which manufatured TNT. Now clean, the industrial park contains many businesses and was recently announced as the location of the new U.S. Volkswagen plant. There are four cemeteries in the industrial park, none of which are on the land of the new auto plant.

Atlanta

Here I am, drinking some coffee in Atlanta, using my 1.3 megapixel point and shoot camera. No really, I'm a professional.

Golf

Golf is surreal.

I won two photo things this week - a photo in the Women in Photojournalism juried exhibit and a second place in the spot news category (which is really just general news) in the Tennessee Associated Press Managing Editors competition. In fact, our department cleared the category, winning first second and third - so good for us.

Sunday, July 6, 2008 - Saturday, July 12, 2008

I barely shot anything this week. I was working on a multimedia project that doesn't publish for over two weeks. What a luxury or a headache, depending on how you look at it.
